Stadium to get new light poles

Original post made on Sep 30, 2009

Earlier in the year, coaches of the San Ramon Valley High School football team were scrambling to deal with the possibility of being without a football stadium this season. But officials now say the replacement of light poles on the athletic field will wait until the end of the year.

It's about time that the stadium at SRV is refurbished. The lights, the poles, the stands, and especially the fields are way overdue. One only wonders why it had to wait until things became critical before the need was addressed.

That's funny, I feel the exact same way about healthcare reform. Go figure!

Pretty soon the entire school is going to be condemned. Its pretty shameful that the school has been allowed to fall into such a state of disrepair. It is the embarassment of the district. Good thing the kids have such a sense of spirit because their school is a pit!

It's more than funny .... it's ironic.

You both are looking to the taxpayers for solutions and handouts! The government always has the solution, I guess! Ha.

Hi Jim

Life is full of ironies.

I guess the other alternative would be to ask parents for MORE donations. How would you propose the school fix its deteriorating facilities? If its not through district funds (aka taxpayer money), then where would it come from?

And I mean no harm or judgement in my questions.

We have a new two-story classroom (d-hall), a new career- tech center, and a new auxillary gym with locker rooms. In a few years more two story classrooms will be built and our large gym will be finished. In all four years of my time here at San Ramon my school has been under construction. And every year my school looks less and less like a pit.

...We also have a very spirited student body. Thanks for pointing that out.
