Learn about the pioneer women Sunday

Contra Costa County Interbranch Council of AAUW is hosting a free presentation in cooperation with the Contra Costa League of Women Voters and the Contra Costa Commission on Women about women pioneers from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 21, at the Lafayette Library at 3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd. Learn about what risks they took and how they met the challenges with Catherine Accardi, Beverly Lane, Karen Terhune and Traci Parent. Refreshments will be provided. Program is open to the public and is free. Call Tena Gallagher at 837-0826.

It is wonderful to see this program publicized so well. It has truly been an all-inclusive CC County endeavor. Through participation in planning it, we have creatively joined business and passion, sponsorship and community donation. Their's a part of our local history for each of us to share with family and friends. It will be inspiring to learn more, and together appreciate the camaraderie of today's CCC women.
