Thanks to Mike Shimansky

Original post made by jrm on Jul 2, 2010

I did not know him other than random meetings at the barber shop and the Farmer's Market but I just wanted to show some respect to our fellow citizens that gave up their time on behalf of our community...politics aside, I am grateful for members of our community making our great town what it is....thanks to all of you for your service! RIP Mike....

JRM: Well said...Danville is blessed to have so many great people who have donated their time and effort to make our town special, people who have put people before politics, and Mike Shimansky was one of those people...I cringe when I read about our Contra Costa County Supervisors who have screwed up our budget, made one mistake after another for their own political gain, while wasting time writing letters to Arizona to complain about their immigration reform laws...Our county supervisors could learn a lot from people like Mike Shimanksy and other Danville citizens who have shown common sense and true community service in improving the quality of life of Danville residents.
