This link is a great way to understand how the liberals have destroyed health care in the United States.
Hate to break it to you but the bill passed very closely resembled Richard Nixon's effort, funny how labels of "liberal" are so transitory. Thanks Chet, this first effort needs refinement of course given the complex problem it addresses. My cataract lens surgery at San Ramon had billed charges of over $21,000...my insurer, United Healthcare, had sat down with SRMC before and said, "wait a minute, based on what actual expenses we perceive on your part for this type of procedure we will pay $6,200.00" SRMC said you got a deal...and so my expense was 20% of $6,200.00. Rick, the system was broken, Nixon knew it a long time ago. This will be better as our needed feedback will provide necessary "tweaks" in years ahead but we had to start somewhere.
"Improve" health care? Are you kidding? Obama the silver tongue Marxist and his merry band of secular progressive deciples are dismantling America one brick at a time. See you at the polls.
Clearly, nothing is perfect, and there are problems with the healthcare system in America, but a governmental mandated program will cause more problems than fix. I have had Kaiser for over 20 years, and although it is not perfect, it works for me and my family, and is affordable. Part of the reason Kaiser works and is affordable is because of the required arbitration of alleged malpractice claims. The arbitration process is quick, cost efficient, with no ridiculous run away verdicts. This keeps the costs down, which helps Kaiser keep our premiums down. John Edwards and his liberal ambulance chaser buddies made millions with malpractice lawsuits, where close to 40% of the recovery went into the lawyers pockets. This drives up the cost of premiums, and causes healthcare providers to practice defensive medicine, ordering x-rays and tests, even when not needed, to avoid liberal ambulance chasing attorneys coming after them. We should throw out Obama's health care program, and simply pass a federal malpractice act, similiar to Kaiser, which requires arbitration of claims, and no right to run away jury verdicts. This will keep costs down. Of course, Obama does not want to upset his liberal ambulance chasing lawyers, so this will never happen when he is office. Just ANOTHER reason to vote him out of office.
Nixon's healthcare plan did not give away $ trillions in tax credits to people making up to $88,000 per year to help them buy health insurance, nor did it raise the rolls of those who will now qualify for Medicare by tens of millions, which will cost the govt. $ trillions and result in higher insurance premiums for people who pay for private insurance.
This healthcare plan is a massive transfer of wealth from those who pay taxes to those who do not.
I'm still waiting for you to explain how the govt. is going to pay for this new entitlement and still adequately fund Social Security, Medicare, education, etc. when the govt. currently has to borrow about a trillion a year just to pay the bills it has now.
Incidentally, your buddy McNerney sent me a flyer in the mail touting how he is a fiscally responsible politician. Funny, the flyer never mentioned that he voted for healthcare reform. I wonder why.
Just because everyplace else in the world that "nationalized healthcare" has been tried it has turned out to diminish healthcare, introduce rationing, drive doctors out of the profession and increased costs doesn't mean that will happen here. The silver tongued teleprompter has told us it will be the most wonderful experience since sliced white bread was introduced and the dorks who follow his drivel (locally a.k.a. McNerney) endorse it. Better curb your enthusiasm until it is in place and "working" before you start dancing in the streets!
It is ironic that Obama, a cigarette smoker, even with young children in OUR white house, feels qualified to lecture us Americans on health care and health care related issues.
"Don't get mad; just get even", E. Dirkson. 'Bye Harry, Nancy, Barbara, Henry, Pete, Jerry...
As a parent of a child with Type 1 diabetes, a chronic health condition, I have experienced first hand the impact of long term medical needs on a family. We are fortunate that we have and pay for good quality medical insurance but others are not as fortunate, either experiencing extremely high co-pays or being dropped for pre-existing conditions. The system as it existed was not working. I shudder to think how much my child would have to pay as an adult to continue to get coverage, provided that a company or employer WOULD cover him. Quality medical care shouldn't be a luxury afforded only the well-to-do.
Are you a paid political propagandist.....or just a volunteer?
The link you give just shows Obama gleaning "credit" for the health care bill. Obama just refers people to go to healthcare.gov for info. So I don't find that it provides any "great way to get an understanding of our new Health Care program" as it .
healthcare.gov is NOT that informative either.
It simply lets you search for info about various health care providers that MIGHT have some program that relates to you.
I search for info about myself here locally--and selecting Kaiser just said "Premium info to come in October". So, apparently Kaiser is trying to figure out what to charge for this all.
So nothing really about what it will ultimately cost for us.
I doubt that the new health care bill will do much to "improve health care in the USA". Although maybe now sickies will stop coming over the border (from all over the world) to obtain healthcare at our expense.
The real story on the "health care" bill signed into law:
The health bill was grotesquely disorganized and incomplete, but it was passed by the Senate in a panic to get home for Christmas in 2009. The absolute understanding was that discussions would continue and significant fixes WOULD be applied after the holiday break.
HOWEVER, in the interim, Scott Brown was elected as Massachusetts Senator on January 19, 2010. This meant that the libs did not have enough votes to pass the *grotesquely* flawed Senate version. That left the House with the choice of passing the Senate version or starting all over again.
Our sterling public servants in the House decided to pass the worst piece of legislation in this century (and last century, for that matter) and we now have a health care structure in America which no one completely understands and which is a testament to arrogance and mindless power-grubbing.
The people who deserve your special attention in November are
McNerney - Garamendi - Miller
There are others, but that would be a nice start to cleaning the mess up.
Repeal and replace! Down with Socialism!
Don't miss out on the discussion!
