Original post made on Aug 23, 2010

The Danville Police Department provides Danville Express with a record of its calls each week. This is a sampling, omitting the more mundane, such as routine traffic stops.

Here is a good one!!!! Man falls off bike on Iron Horse trail at Prospect.......6 Danville police cars with all their overhead lights going a fire truck and don't you think thats a bit much! We are paying for all this...What a waste of our tax dollars.......I think we have too many cops's obvious they have nothing better to do!

While there have been cases of minor scratches- there have also been cases where the person fell, hit their head and died or have a open fracture and can't move. I guess you would have critcized the Danville police for not responding fast enough in that situation. If not, how are they suppose to know wht is truly emergent and what is not- They rely on the person calling in the situation! Be thankful there are 6 that respond rather than none-

Discounting the fact that the location given by Gary is only half a mile from police HQ, I'm calling b.s. I sincerely doubt that there were 7 cops all responding. Danville has a lot of area and they spread out to be able to respond to all the different neighborhoods.

Frankly I'm tired of all the police bashing that goes on here. These people do a good job of keeping us safe. Yes, crimes do occur here even with their efforts. They're not gods, they're just people doing a difficult job.

Could they be friendlier? Some of them, sure. But all you people who line up on this forum to anonymously bash, try doing their job and see if you can cut it. Personally, I doubt most of you would last a day.

jrm is a registered user.

I downloaded the app for the fire department (an interesting app) but I haven't found one for the Danville PD....can anyone enlighten me as to if there is one?
