Parties, Slates and Individuals: Making a voter's choice

Original post made by Harald A. Bailey on Oct 26, 2010

Dear Emily,

The volume of election consideration quite out of sight of the public media is providing a very exceptional view of the election a week away. Parties, including tea parties, and slates of candidates, simply bring suspicion to a majority of voters. Individuals, as candidates and voices for various measures, are the evaluated factors in next Tuesday's election.

This election in our Iron Horse corridor was keyed by the Danville Town Council appointing itself. After that event all slates of candidates, all party candidates, and all sponsorship from political groups became suspect.

We, as voters, are judging individuals as candidates and their proposed focus and policies. As it is typical of our politics, such individuals are having trouble being important to voters.
