Too bad they didn't ask about including a dog park, as Hap Magee is a victim of its own success via overuse. Several folks commented on dogs in general in the freeform section of the survey. This would provide a contained outlet. I think the area that (very) occasionally floods and is not used for sports fields would be perfect -- you could even ring it with more rose-gardener stations.
Another good place for a DP would be along the west side of the Iron Horse trail, adjacent to the Park/Ride lot at Sycamore Valley and Camino Ramon. It would be a long, thin area for running and ball-chase, with a wider, shaded area on the north end, under the trees, where the trail goes under the freeway. It's unused and seems unlikely to be good for anything else. Already has ample parking, as well.
Cheap and easy, a significant source of actual Community among the human users in our gated little burg, and much appreciated by our best friends.
Wish I knew about the survey but here are my two cents anyway. Would love to have lights around the walking path. Just waist high, low voltage ones would be really nice during the winter months. Bocce courts would be fun. A creek side hiking trail would be great but I do know the water level really fluctuates during the winter and one downpour could wipe it out.
Let's thank these commentators for their exceptional suggestions and positive contributions to people's enjoyment of Osage Park.
Applause, more readers with more positive commentary would be equally enjoyable.
I just wanted to let Joseph and Dogfather know that it is not too late for them to give input into the master plan update for Osage Station Park. On the Town's website, there is a project page for the update which includes a feedback section. The page can be found at Web Link.
Hope this helps, we look forward to hearing from you!
Have a great day!
