Too bad we didn't get this article until after the fact! After 12 years, I am no longer the soccermom or baseballmom. I would love to join forces with the 51.7% of the people who feel that a skatepark would be a good addition to the town of Danville. There is alot of young talent in the community and it would be great to support those kids interest!

I go to Osage at least 5 times a week and would have loved to have had some input in the survey. The city council should have made the survey available online. I wish they would consider reopening the survey so the rest of us could submit our opinions. I would like to see a backboard added to the tennis courts and open 3-sided cement handball/racquetball courts which could also be used as a practice area for throwing baseballs/kicking soccer balls/throwing lacrosse balls/hitting tennis balls against when not in use for racquetball. the grassy area next to the tennis courts which tends to be too soggy for most activities would be a good location.

@skatermom & parkuser:

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry that you missed the initial online survey. It was on the Town's website www.danville.ca.gov for several weeks. During that time we notified the media as well as the subscribers to the Town's E-News service that it was there.

If you would still like an opportunity to comment, there is a project page on the Osage Station Master Plan Update on the Town's website. It can be found at Web Link . On that page you can read updates on the project, sign up for e-mail notifications regarding the plan update and leave your comments.

Recreation Services Manager Michelle Lacy has said that they are hoping to continue the discussions of the design at the park at the February meeting of the Parks and Leisure Services Commission. That meeting is currently scheduled for February 9, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Meeting Hall, 201 Front Street.

For more information, contact Recreation Services Manager Michelle Lacy at (925) 314-3454 or mlacy@danville.ca.gov.

Have a good night!

Geoff.
