Global Warming?

Original post made by Rick Pshaw, Danville, on Jan 27, 2011

Why is it that the global warming crowd never makes a peep during winter? Oh, yes - they changed their tune to "climate change."

Well that certainly is more accurate - IT'S GETTING COLDER! Go take a look at the weather on the east coast. Yes, I know that the "Warmers" will say the reason for this is global warming.

The "warmers" are still trying to sell this dead horse to the American public. Don't buy their lies folks - just look at the weather.

I will bite at the dangling bait.

"Global Warming" or "Climate Change" mean different things than "today's weather". The scientific understanding his that a warmer climate (average) leads to greater short-term swings, largely due to more water vapor in the atmosphere. That is, "global warming" does lead to record snowfalls, according to the theory.

Let me ask you, "what would convince it was real and not a left-wing conspiracy?"

Oh, Ricky. It snowed back east, so there's no global warming?

You are the price we pay for the First Amendment.

A convincing theory might be when data consistently applied held up the theory.

On global warming there is data since 1998 showing colder temperatures that was hidden by global warming proponents and then 'leaked'. There is also data that there were many warmer years with little increases in CO2 and the converse as well. There is data that climate change has to do with flatulence, sunspots, winds, etc. There is conjecture and promotion that all the glaciers are melting but a little digging finds many are growing. Given that the facts do not match up to the theory (one of the many theories on this topic); the conclusion is yes there may be climates around the world that are changing over time, but we as yet do not know the causes; including the ability to link to man-made causes. This is the opening for many to think the promotion of the theory has more to do with political reasons than the climate.

Since the environmentalists seem to promote global warming the most and want to limit all sorts of economic activity due to this, then it is reasonable to ask if the theories match the facts. If that isn't true why are they then pushing solutions unrelated to the stated problem? To many people the limits on economic activity on the scale that environmentalists desire means a possibility of 'left-wing' meddling; and to some of those a conspiracy.

Caution: it was not the original but the response that brought in 'left wing conspiracy' on the issue. It is reasonable to question motive of any group if the solution they pose to a problem doesn't hold up to the facts consistently. That can be the response of many left, right, and center, conspiracy or not.
