Danville, San Ramon, take steps to protect redevelopment funds

Original post made on Feb 10, 2011

Redevelopment funds will be taken away from cities, "in some way, shape or form." That's what Joan Buchanan (D-15) told a delegation of local officials who went to Sacramento budget meeting on those funds, according to Danville Town Manager Joe Calabrigo.

Brown's budget proposals are ridiculous, because a few members of the opposition will not vote for the budget and Californians will not vote for higher taxes. So what is Brown's real budget?

Ignoring the will of the people eventually gets even the worst of politicians in trouble. Gov. "Moonbeam II" will find that out when his budget proposal hits the fan in a June ballot.

RE "......Californians will not vote for higher taxes."
I'm not so sure about that!?! Look at the politicians and political ideals that most Californians already vote for.
I think many people will just think "let the rich and upper middle-class pay for it all," "it won't ever effect me," "I probably won't ever get into that income level and if I do, I'll be glad to pay it and will deal with it then."
They don't think that it will have any trickle down effect to break the back of golden dream of Capitalism that "I could become rich too".

RE "a few members of the opposition will not vote for the budget"
I don't think there's enough votes to block anything the Democrats want to do?

Earl and Duffy, what would you like proposed instead that you could support?

Handicapping the horse race is OK, I guess, It seems like all anybody does with the budget is predict that all the horses will die before crossing the line,or get towed across by tractor load of trickery.
