Alamo family helped girl who plunged from Golden Gate Bridge

Merle Hall, former mayor of Walnut Creek, and his son Eric were sailing on the San Francisco Bay with Eric's two teenage sons when a wildly waving crowd alerted them to the 16-year-old girl who plummeted into the bay.

Uh, what happened to Eric Hall? Did he jump into the water? Is he OK? What did his father and sons think of his brave efforts?

Today, I received distribution from media associates in global news services that assumes, quite like jumping in front of a train in Palo Alto, that the Golden Gate Bridge will become a focus of teans.

Care to examine that frightening concept?
