A new app from the San Ramon Regional Medical Center will let people get into the emergency room quicker, monitor wait times and store important medical information. The mobile application will also let people use their phones for additional access to medical information, something that's been growing over the last few years, according to hospital officials.

Make an appointment for the emergency room? I thought Emergency Rooms were for emergency treatment and doctor's offices were for non-emergency treatment. What am I missing?
