Important Redistricting Workshops

Original post made by [removed], Alamo, on May 15, 2011

Dear Editor,

Monday, May 16, is a very important day for our Iron Horse Corridor. Two redistricting workshops will be held to gather demonstrated preferences by residents for how our county district will be defined.

2PM to 3:30PM, at the recreation center gymnasium, 2055 Tice Valley Blvd, Walnut Creek, Gayle Uiklema, Dist2 supervisor, will hear the preferences of our region's neigbhorhood, business district and community groups for the Contra Costa Times redistricting maps that places Lamorinda, Alamo, Diablo, Blackhawk, Tassajara Valley, Dougherty Valley and the San Ramon Valley in District 2.

**Do not forget the TVTC meeting at 4:30 at the Danville Town Hall that will fully impact Alamo roads**

7PM to 8:30PM, at the Walnut Creek Library, Broadway, Walnut Creek, Mary Piepho, will hear the same preferences for the Contra Costa Times redistricting maps that remove Dist3 from Walnut Creek, Alamo and the San Ramon Valley.

Looking forward to May 26th, 7PM to 8:30PM at the Alamo Women's Club, Alamo, Mary Piepho will once again hear the same preferences for the Contra Costa Times redistricting maps that remove Dist3 from our region.

Her name is spelled U-I-L-K-E-M-A. We probably should get used to it...

Dear Editor,

This afternoon, May 16, in Tice Valley, Supervisor Uilkema, Ms. Catherine Kutsuris and staffs produced an excellent program for a significant group of attendees. The meeting was interactive discussion, with individual conversations considering each plan, and various discussions for mitigation of boundaries. More, the result was substantial input from a well-informed audience that had defined views of communities in-common, shared economics, shared transportation issues and a very focused, shared voice.

As our 24/680 south corridor finds future in-common as part of district II, it remains the specific interests of individual residents to express a deciding opinion in support of "Concept Plan #5" as the CC Times logical combination of like political and economic attitudes and interests.

The story is ready to be told.

Don't miss out on the discussion!
