Mall incidents in Pleasanton, Walnut Creek may be related

Original post made on Jul 13, 2012

Police are investigating whether a robbery using a knife at the Broadway Plaza parking garage in Walnut Creek on Wednesday is related to an incident at Stoneridge Shopping Center last Friday when two teenage girls tried to grab a woman's purse and shopping bag.

The description of the two criminals at the Walnut Creek parking lot, fits the same description of the two criminals involved in the pleasanton mall parking lot attack. Hope police have parking lot video to arrest the two criminals soon.

Noticing that the perpetrators look alike and stalk parking garages to rob and assault innocent shoppers leads us down the road to racial profiling even if it's accurate. This is where politically correct thinking leads us.

Am hoping that the victims in both instances are recovering physically and mentally.

What a nasty experience for them.

BRAVA to the Stoneridge shopper who was able to fight back!!!

William, you are so right. In this day and age, it is more important for cops to be politically correct than to catch predators. So they don't get accused of racial profiling, they need to be looking for white, middle aged fat guys. There you go, no racial profiling. Everyone is happy! (It's called police work)

Come to me and threaten my life. You will be dealt with equal retaliation. But you will not walk away...you will be taken away in the prone position and you may be laid to rest in that same position. To me life is too precious.

Thank you Listening and I hope the thugs are also listening, but I doubt it.

I really dont see anything wrong with this.

These highly educated black teenagers are practicing what they hear from Washington: what's yours is also mine!!!

So, good to put wealth redistribution to practice somewhere without any real hard work involved except to hold some other person's wealth as the target no matter where.

Parking lots seems like an excellent place to practice redistribution.

Of course it is smart for them to come to come to affluent (1% percenters) shopping areas and rob the shoppers. It is "spreading the wealth" in same sense that Obama is talking about, only they are really taking it to heart and it is faster then waiting for the free government handouts! Keep spreading the wealth and soon you too can become Greece, Spain and Italy all in one. Those who elect Obama for a second term deserve to see the change he is talking about.

The Walnut Creek thieves are described differently than the Pleasanton Stoneridge Mall attempted theft. In Pleasanton they were two 15 year olds at 110 pounds, and Walnut Creek there were two 22 ish and 5'6" or so ~ Both groups women and both groups black with additional people in their get away cars.

Keep your cell phones IN HAND ready when you are in shopping Parking Lots, because a license plate will help to crack these cases as well as a defensive weapon for yourself. Stun gun anyone? Or perhaps Pepper Spray/Bear Spray ~ Let's ban together so criminals don't start using our parking lots like Their shopping mall.

@ William: let's get this straight -- racial profiling is when a cop sees a person in a place where that person has the right to be -- but the cop decides that person does not 'belong' there -- and That arouses the cop's suspicion and leads to questioning.

This case is fundamentally different, because the description of the perps PRECEDES, and forms the basis for the cop's suspicion.

The latter is called law enforcement -- only the former is called profiling. And there's plenty of it, and it's wrong.

Fascinating to see the leap of (il)logic from a pair of common robberies to snarky, though misguided, comments on political doctrine.
