Gee whiz----could these numbers be reflecting the droves of ppl who are no longer looking for work? Or, was that left out so the low information voters of the lord Obama, can continue to believe he is the second coming of Christ?
Everyone knows someone out of work. Too bad the Express doesn't scratch the surface to find the real unemployment numbers. I agree, this is an attempt to minimize the absolute damage of this multi-vacationing regime. Let them eat cake!!
Ah, the right wing nutballs, out in their full splendor again! Susan delatorre, having slurped her assigned share of Kool-Ade, is convinced that the current President is "multi-vacationing" - a soundbite pounded into the skulls of the right-wing faithful by their "reality-free zone" media and blogs, undeterred by the objective fact that the current president has spent far **more** time **on** the job and **less** time on vacation than his predecessor or other recent presidents.
Talk about "low-information" voters. No, wait - that's not right - these folks have lots of "information" - it's just that most of it's pure BS, which they believe uncritically.
Wake up Huh? Obviously you have a job.
Dale and Susan are right on with their thinking.
I have fallen off the grid after having looked for work for almost two years. Believe me, I go to meetings and job fairs with the same people that don't register on the grid. Hundreds of people show up for an open call and all we get is leave your email because they only take the first 150 people's resumes.
Maybe you need to investigate further to see how your money is being spent by the government.
CJG u r so right and HUH showed his bias quite readily. He needs to wake up and realize thousands are no longer looking. Obama etc is an elitist.
I'm very aware that the economy has not yet fully healed from the damage done by the Republican policies which led the nation to the brink of an economic meltdown and national depression, with hundreds of thousands of jobs being lost **each month** in the year leading up to Obama taking office in 2009. It takes a long time for a national economy to recover from the destruction of deregulation and infrastructure defunding resulting from irresponsible tax cutting that has been the hallmark of Republican dogma for the past 40 years. I'm sorry you're personally suffering, but blaming it on the guy who has been cleaning up your heroes' messes for the past five years is just blind foolishness.
Or were you all in a coma from 2001 to 2008, and thought everything was just dandy until Obama took office?
Interesting how when the current incumbent was elected President, he was immediately slated as an elitist likely because he presents a more academic personality then his recent political foes and/or peers.
Taking the common definition of 'elitist' to be reasonable defined as '(of a person or class of persons) considered superior by others or by themselves, as in intellect, talent, power, wealth, or position in society', let's look at his comparatives.
His predecessor was born into one of the 20th century's significant power political families, was given a privileged academic deferment to avoid military service in Southeast Asia even though his father served in the same region during WWII, was a member of Yale's Skull-n-Bones exclusive club for the privileged, was the managing owner of a MLB baseball team and had significant wealth.
His first political foe was born into one the of the 20th century's great military families. After a very honorable service, he married into a family of exceptional wealth. His wealth was such that upon questioning during a past campaign, he could not quite remember just how many homes he had and where they were located around the globe.
His most recent political foe could perhaps be best defined by one 'considered superior by others or themselves as possessing intellect, talent, wealth, power and/or position in society'. His self-characterizations require no retelling here for impact.
Seems to me, that any of these men would be considered an 'elitist' when compared to the average Joe or Jane that takes the time to bemoan the current POTUS on websites like this one. Give it a rest.
Huh would defend the affirmative action prez at any turn. Bammy was the first to want the sequester. Now seniors are being turned away from cancer treatment centers. Dems are in overdrive to blame reps. Lie. Maybe bammy could cut some vacations and pay for a suffering American.
"Bammy?" AWG, you're a class act, you know that?
I get the "reality-free" mindset - Obama's vacations (less than half those taken by his predecessor) have apparently been the latest bile the right wing blogs have been spreading due to the lack of anything substantive to whine about. But facts are facts. Republican dogma - not just one president, but the fundamental basis of current Republican economic theory from Ronald Reagan to today - created the economic mess we're in. The "I, me, mine" crying of Boomers who took advantage of the infrastructure and economic prosperity generated by older generations who were willing to pay more taxes than the current crop of entitled righties, and now insist that paying the same forward is just too, too much to bear has built the national debt which hampers our society. Under Reagan, Bush and Bush, in times of economic prosperity, the government borrowed the majority of the nation's accumulated debt to cover the shortfall caused by irresponsibly low tax rates.
So of course you blame the guy who was brought in just as the economy was circling the drain, who has stabilized the nation and reversed the descent into chaos. And you call him "Bammy."
Could it be that those out of work are no longer interested in working because they are collecting disability?
That apparently is the new trend, stay home and get a free check in the mail!
Hilarious BS! Lead story on DRUDGE right now is about the 90 MILLION unemployed but somehow we are supposed to believe the leading entitlement state-CA--has a different trend. Har de har har har!!
JEG is correct...I played around with a few numbers online and can get $200 SNAP card! A few little lies was all it took! Gonna work on using my minor disability to crunch that cash cow too.spare me the lecture on lies....there is so much fraud going on now and the gov doesn't care.. Illegals get $1000 per "kid" (lies) using an ITIN--claiming 17 kids is common. Getting' on the dem gravy train.
Yep "HUH?"---"Bammy" and "Moo-shell"----get over it. Now eat your grass clippings like a good little soviet while they gobble their foie gras and caviar. Ah, and another night of partying with Justin and Beyonce! Elitist trash.
AWG, your envy is palpable. It really bothers you that the folks in the White House are smarter, stronger, more successful, and undoubtedly better looking than you are, doesn't it?
The Right will take any piece of good news and distort it in service to their one sacred conclusion: the world is going to hell in a hand basket, and it's the black guy's fault. I'll let Colin Powell describe the phenomenon, reflected in this thread's hateful tone:
POWELL: "There's also a dark a dark vein of intolerance in some parts of the party. What do I mean by that? ... When I see a former governor say that the President is "shuckin' and jivin'," that's racial era slave term. When I see another former governor after the president's first debate where he didn't do very well, says that the president was lazy. He didn't say he was slow. He was tired. He didn't do well. He said he was lazy. Now, it may not mean anything to most Americans, but to those of us who are African Americans, the second word is shiftless and then there's a third word that goes along with that. The birther, the whole birther movement. Why do senior Republican leaders tolerate this kind of discussion within the party?"
Answer: because it feeds the racist base.
So, Asinine White Guy: is he an 'affirmative action general?'
Don't miss out on the discussion!
