Iron Horse Trail

Original post made by frankly on Aug 12, 2013

Does anyone have an idea why runners, bicyclists, joggers,

DO NOT read the big white painted 4 letter word S T O P?

they often run right through in front of traffic, give the low life finger salute, even one spit on my car.

Cant figure it out!!!

They dont care; dont look in any direction before entering the street from the Trail, they just plow through believing that it is the responsibility of the driver to stop and have no stake in stopping.

A few do but one day, one of them will be on the ground accusing the driver!!!!!

Any thoughts?

I may be wrong but I believe the law is such that pedestrians have the right of way, if you run over a jogger in the crosswalk I think the driver will be liable. I have almost been hit twice on Del Amigo by drivers talking on their phone driving West. I now always pause and make sure they see me.

Then why did the agency paint a giant STOP at each and every crossing FOR the bicyclists?

Any idea?

Is the district wrong in painting the STOP for the bikes before crossing the street?
