Jury convicts former sheriff's deputy in Danville 'dirty DUI' case

Original post made on Sep 4, 2013

Stephen Tanabe, 50, of Alamo, was found guilty in federal court of one count of conspiracy, three counts of wire fraud and two counts of extortion. The charges stem from his role in helping former private investigator Christopher Butler set up the arrests of three men in stings in Danville between November 2010 and January 2011.

Too bad. He could have had a promising Hollywood career playing Charlie Sheen's brother.

Danville isn't as precious as their people think! This story doesn't surprize me. Danville is a town who is full of lies & secrets. No wonder teens r running away or killing themselves cuz they're not that purfect 4 that town or their parents or teachers. I'm so glad i moved away from that crappy town!

Karma, you are right in what you say...Their problem is that most if not all the new comers have an ultra-ego and a very big chip on their shoulder. And worst of all they pass it on to their brats.

I truly believe it is most of the new comers...the old established folks of Danville are sane and intelligent. But the others are a different story.

By the way, the worst ultra-ego's are members of the town council.

Thanks for listening... Julia Pardini from Alamo

He got by, for too long, with a little help from his friends:

Commander Wielsch's County Cops Club Band

It was twenty years ago today,
C'mander Norman formed the gang to prey.
They've been going in and out of jail,
They've got funds enough to raise their bail.
So may I describe to you --
The gang you've feared for all these years:
Commander Norman's County Cops Club Band!

We're Norman Wielsch's County Cops Club Band,
It's quite an imbroglio!
We're Norman Wielsch's one-and-only? Filthy Cops Club Band
Sit back and let the evidence flow!
Commander Wielsch's County, C'mander Wielsch's filthy,
Commander Wielsch's County Cops Club Band.

Perhaps you'd like our brothel,
Your action pics we'll sell.
Or sample stolen evidence,
We'll frame you into DUIs,
And make your life pure Hell!

You really can't top this show,
And I thought you might like to know,
That the jailbird's going to sing a song,
And he knows you'll listen all day long.
So let me introduce to you,
The one and only Butler man,
Of Norman Wielsch's Filthy Cops Club Band!

Pretty good, Bea! You have a talent for writing alternative lyrics. (It's not easy to get the phrasing and syllable counts right, when doing this sort of thing.)

@Julia - I agree completely! I am so tired of all of these people with a chip on their collective shoulders spewing their venom on this forum! Those types that belittle and ridicule, and point fingers endlessly. They sign their posts with ridiculous things like "thanks for listening..." Hey - wait a minute....!

Nothing wrong with bumping your gums a little to shake things up.

Julia,

You are right all us "new comers" should be just like you, paranoid, angry and bitter. It is us "new comers" that seem to find fault with any change that happens and of course that town council full of commies is determined to ruin the town they live in. That's why they are on the council, to turn Danville into a Mad Max utopia.

It is amazing that you can turn an article about a bad cop into another rant about how Danville is heading into ruin and it is the fault of the residents.

Thanks for listening

Tom

It is unfortunate -- bad decisions have ramifications. Doing something illegal is to result in some sort of punishment by the law. That being said then why is it that people who live and work here illegally don't have the same consequence? It seems illegal should mean illegal, not "we need health inustance and government assistance". The law for a cop should be the same law for others.

Danvillites: heed this warning -- do NOT jaywalk when Danville Hartz is around! He keeps a 10-Bob note up his nose.
