Unsung no more: 2013 Tri-Valley Heroes named

The Tri-Valley Heroes selection committee had a very difficult task selecting only one recipient per category. Again this year the committee had an opportunity to learn about some of the "unsung heroes" in the Tri-Valley -- residents who are making contributions to better our communities and their residents. It is a humbling experience. We are surrounded by some amazing people.

So Save Mt. Diablo gets the "environmental stewardship" award? You should have polled the residents of the Diablo Road area where Save Mt. Diablo's "blessing" just ensured that SummerHill Homes' traffic-snarling, creek flooding, endangered species-killing 69+ home project would be built. How's that for "environmental stewardship"?

Turns out SMD got a hefty contribution from SummerHill Homes, presumably to help it could continue its "environmental stewardship" supporting other bad developments.
