Yes, Bebe, what ARE they thinking? Apparently, the Town Council in Danville turns a deaf ear to the public and its rights.

That is why SOS-Danville is now in a lawsuit against the Town for its flawed approval of the SummerHill Homes 69+ home development for Magee Ranch in the Diablo Road corridor. SOS-Danville's suit includes a demand for a Measure S public vote on the project because it converts land designated in the Danville General Plan for Agricultural use to a Residential use. Danville claims the land where the homes are clustered on 10,000+ sq. foot lots is still in Agricultural use!

BTW, Measure S was a ballot measure in 2000 that passed with a whopping 75% approval. It says that when the Council votes to change a parcel designated for Agricultural use to another use, such as Residential, the public gets the final say via a public ballot measure election.

The KB Homes Elworthy Ranch project ("Quail Ridge") should have also had a Measure S public vote. The Council claimed no public vote was needed because the 12 acres where the homes are squished together (including 12 apartments) would still be in Agricultural use! Can you believe it?? Outrageous!

Danville residents need to make a clean sweep of Town Council in next election. If you keep building they will come. Look at the mess San Ramon has become. I work in the school district at a school in San Ramon, you don't want this in Danville.

Why do they keep approving projects when so many oppose them? Why do voters keep voting the same people?
I just don't get it. Really, why?

The council wants the revenue to pay for pensions and salaries. They don't care about traffic or other problems the locals must deal with. They should be voted out. None of them listen to the people they are supposedly representing. They do what they want to do. They are all pro developer. The traffic on San Ramon Valley Blvd is awful at commute times and will get worse with the project going in now and the new one proposed on Midland. Try to find parking now in Danville during the lunch hour or worse on weekends. I guess these politicos don't drive or go out much.

Let's be sure to scrutinize Newell Arnerich's campaign coffers for his Assembly race. I heard he just had a fundraiser at the Village Theater. Bet there will be lots of developer money and money from others that have benefitted from Newell's actions while leading Danville down the path to being one giant traffic snarl.

I'd be tempted to vote for him for Assembly just to get him out of Danville, but I don't think I can bring myself to letting him wreak havoc on us from Sacramento. Whatever he does there, you can be sure it will result in higher taxes and more traffic congestion for all of us. Oh, I hear he wants to maintain the ability of BART workers to strike---just who is Newell's constituency?!

Louise- Danville doesn't have a pension system. Check your facts before you spew negativity.

Bribes will be paid, any and all protests will be ignored, and the land will be developed, mark my words. And this includes the wealthy individual(s) who wants to screw up the Tassajara ridgeline, for their own selfish desire for a nice view - never mind that they #&(K up every one else's view.
As you go west behind the condos along San Ramon Valley Blvd, doesn't it go almost immediately uphill? What the heck low lying area are they talking about? or are they just lowlifes lying?
