Let's be truthful, the increase is being made to pay for the union workers benefits.
Th greed of union employees continues to astound. They want the public to pay for their bloated pensions, salaries and benefits. If this were a private company it would not be tolerated. Why do they get away with it? Unions have a stranglehold on the public who pay their wages and benefits. It should stop so there is more fairness and balance as the current administration and leadership in Washington blathers on about but in reality does not support when it comes to unions.
Just another kick in the teeth for BART patrons. Happy Holidays from BART!
It may be hard to accept, but the culprit here is Not the BART unions that have found a way to stay afloat by banding together and bargaining for their supper.
The REAL problem is inequity in the economic system -- All the gains since the Great Recession have gone to the top few percent, and the middle class has been slowly sinking since the 1980s. Until you complainers accept reality, band together and demand changes to that system, you have no one to blame except yourselves.
Beggaring the BART union isn't going to help you. They only look slightly better-off because you're worse-off.
A waste of money for union people. Too bad nothing being thrown at the game of knockout going on at the Fremont stations and elsewhere where it is being covered up. I'm boycotting the system----trash lazy union "workers."
Timing of the increase is a perfect, its been a few weeks since the last Bart bungling. They were due. I point to the unions benefits demands for causing the increase in fares. Their greedy demands are paid out of the riders pockets. I was sickened to hear of the unions demands through this whole process. I own a business and know how hard I work, my employees work, and colleagues in my industry, and how we are compensated. My industry is like most industries. I wanted so bad to have the union broken and realistic benefits paid.
Don't miss out on the discussion!
