I am so sick and tired of this issue... Does Obama have this "pen" in hand to extend the date again? Republicans: DO SOMETHING!

Republicans - YES, what's your alternative? Block grants to the states to address Medicaid shortfalls? Immediately cancel pre-existing condition policy for those well past the middle years of their life but just too far in years from fully securing Medicare? Allow the oligarchs who rule modern day feudal castles (i.e. corporate boardrooms) to decide what is best for their servants err staff? Time machine us all back to 1983? That was a great year, I thinků

All you sheeple take your head out of my behind and see the truth. Obamacare will bankrupt us and make us a 3rd world country.

Wake up!

Thanks for listening.

Julia, If Federal bankruptcy is what you are primarily concerned about, given the significant increase in our lifespans against prior generations, Medicare will run us to the edge first. Now, when you wake up, I suspect that you're not ready to give up on any of your Bush-era Part D pharmaceutical expenses. Correct? Wouldn't it just be reasonable for you and I to keep ours but really stick-it to the next ones coming up, right?

But you bring up a good point to think about. It's quite interesting when you think about one's own grandparents from a very different era who, for the most part, really were living in a 3rd world existence till first Social Security in the 30's and then Medicare at the end of their relatively short lives in the 60's came about. So let's be real, we either find a way to keep the young people healthy AND working or we won't have anyone to pay for those second or third knee/hip replacements, when convenient. Goodness only knows, if you want to get around either 18/36 holes or play in a decent doubles match, you need good joints.

Obamacare has heiped my family so much. My wife and I both had pre-existing condition and were constantly worrying about losing our employer health plan. I remember waiting for the GOP to do something about this issue. However, as usual the GOP does nothing. The GOP is such a negative organization war, guns and many "Nos" enough said.

Hmmmm if obamacare is so great--why all the exemptions for political cronies? Denial of treatment will trigger a revolution.

@Chris, that Congress and other political types are exempt from the affordable care act is a myth generated by a piece of chain mail, debunked many times over. See the previous post for a real life perspective on a family previously denied coverage.

The hyperbole around this act is ridiculous.

Like who, Chris -- all the members of Congress, more of whom are GOPers than Dems?

There are many plans with different levels of cost and benefits available, Chris -- you know that, right? Okay, to which were you referring? All of them are better than the illusory coverage that some folks 'lost' = were upgraded from, AND all of them are better than either no coverage or coverage denied for pre-existing conditions.

Tell me, Chris -- can you see Russia from where your eyes are -- or just the Isles of Langerhans?
