The San Ramon Planning Commission could be close to reaching a decision Tuesday (May 6) on the Faria Preserve residential development proposed for the northwest part of the city.
Tuesday will mark the commission’s eighth public hearing on the new 740-home development, and city staff recommends commissioners move forward with a final vote, if appropriate, during this meeting, set to convene at 7 p.m. inside the San Ramon City Council Chambers at 2222 Camino Ramon.
The project, planned by developer Lafferty Communities, would add single-family homes, town homes, condominiums, apartments and senior housing on approximately 286.5 acres near Deerwood and Bollinger Canyon roads. Also included in the plans are a community park, a church and an educational facility.
The project has caused some debate at each of the previous seven commission meetings, held between last November and April 15. Additionally, more than 300 San Ramon residents signed petitions opposing the Faria Preserve development, resident Robert Klingner said last month.
City staff recommends the commission consider the latest presentation update Tuesday, open the public hearing and take citizen testimony, close the public testimony part of the hearing, provide any comments and then take a final vote on whether to approve the project, if appropriate.
The reasons are many which have been heard load and clear to the Commission why this project SHOULD NOT be approved ! Doesn’t a DROUGHT mean anything to you ?????
