This is such good news! Finally an end to the dust and noise created by this construction. And the improvement in the freeway will be wonderful!
Wake up folks...this was a very, very big waste of taxpayer money.
Think about it and most of all think about the real benefit...THERE WAS NONE
Thanks for listening, Julia Pardini from Alamo
As part of the cost, don't forget how many deaths and injuries occurred in this construction area during this period?
What we, in Danville, really need is a separated auxiliary lane going north on 680 that connects Sycamore to El Cerro.
But, of course, CalTrans never gives notice or requires real, effective surveying of the desires and needs of ordinary citizens in an effected area. It just caters to the agenda and concepts of its own liberally-schooled Planners, to ABAG, to special interest groups, and to the goals of long-distance commuters.
IMO, everyone should have equal access to the roadways.
Car pool lanes (HOA lanes) are rubbish science. They just foster longer distance commuting.
Meter lights are rubbish science. They also just foster longer distance commuting at the expense of shorter distance travelers.
Toll roads are exclusivity projects, solely borne out of the need to find additional financing sources.
IMO, all public roads should be free to use.
First come, first served. No preferential treatment to any group.
If the traffic is too much (and if Government can't/won't provide more roads), then individuals will find another way on their own and without Government intervention and force. Private industry will see the need and address it.
There is no real need to subsidize certain concepts, such as car pooling, at the expense of all other individuals. Each concept stand on its own feet. It is either a good idea for folks to do on their own (and without a special freeway system for them) or it isn't that good of an idea.
Is a particular hybrid car a viable idea on its own...or not? If so, it doesn't need to be given an HOA pass.
We have been forced into transportation concepts that liberal-minded Urban Planners believe in (without any vote or say on our part) and have been taught in school. The ultimate goal is to force us out of cars and into mass transportation systems. The idea is to convert freeways into part of their mass transportation concepts.
The idea that a person can decide how and when they want to travel is a bad idea to the Planners. Individualism--to get in your own vehicle, go where you want, when you want, and how you choose to go--is antithetical to the beliefs and schemes of the Planners. They know best for you!
I've seen California change from "freeways" to toll lanes in my lifetime.
Get a life everything's a big liberal conspiracy. You guys are pathetic. Why not continue your investigation of Obama's birth certificate. To quote you the modern conservative movement is "Rubbish".
Don't miss out on the discussion!
