So grateful that this tradition carries on and that we are able to express our love of this country and appreciation for all of the heroes who have served and are serving it.
God Bless America, she may be struggling right now but it is still the best place on Earth!

Same old parade...I have been seeing it for 30 years and very little changes.

For the new folks in town I guess it's okay.

for the old timers it's boring as it can ever get..

Try more music...more marching bands. Slow down on all the advertising floats...

And for sure drop the shotgun BS..It only scares the children and drives the animal crazy...

Thanks for listening, Julia Pardini from Alamo...

PS...I will attend the parade for about a hour. I for sure will be around when the guns go off.

Dear Sadie...this country is struggling only for one reason,

That reason is due to the naive voters that put non-qualified people into office. yes our country is great but our current leaders are corrupt and self-serving. And we the people are the blame.

Whoa! For 5 minutes there I agreed with Julia. That's a first. The parade is boring. More music would be a great improvement.

As to Julia's second post, I'm always amused by people who blame "our current leaders" for the state of the nation. It seems as though a huge portion of the country was in a coma for several years immediately preceding January 2009. For those of us who retained consciousness during that period, America looks to be in significantly improved shape these days.

Of course, the incessant right wing propaganda that's parroted onto innumerable comment pages has gotten worse, but given the amount of money being spent to encourage people to support policies which help make the rich richer at the expense of everyone else, what can you expect?

Hey Peter, I did not 100% blame our current leaders....read my lips...

I blamed "WE THE PEOPLE" FOR PUTTING THOSE 300 PLUS NON-QUALIFIED FOOLS INTO OFFICE TO DICTATE TO US 300+ MILLION FOLKS... Do you get it now Peter..

It sounds like you are one of those many naive folks that helped cripple our country. I KNOW YOU ARE SO SORRY THAT YOU VOTED THE WAY YOU DID. NOT ONCE BUT TWICE. That's okay Peter...You do know what the wise folks say. "If you do not have any past regrets in life...you have not lived life to the fullest". Now do you get it.

Thanks for listening and most of all Peter thanks for understanding.

They are already planting their chairs and ropes off so no one else can enjoy the parade! It started this morning when I was driving to work! I thought you couldn't put chairs out until after 6:00 pm tonight! Every year it's the same people and their families get bigger and bigger and they take up more and more room! That's why I don't go anymore! It should be first come first served the morning of the parade that way everyone has a chance to get down there early!

Bess is so right... All the rude jerks staking out their territory really takes all the fun out of the parade. We've lived here our entire lives, it used to be a great event but not anymore!

Julia,
You're such a hater. . .
Enjoy the celebration and the meaning of the day.

Smile, it'll make you feel better.

Why do people like you Julia have to be so negative. It is suppose to be a nice day to support our country and you have to post a bunch of garbage. Be grateful you are here in the land of the free. Didn't your mother tell you if you didn't have something nice to say, don't say anything!! No need for your rude comments.

Hey A Danville Friend chill out...you don't even know me..I am not a hater. I am a realist...

I know it's just a parade a very boring parade...that's all

Yes I agree about celebrating the TRUE meaning of the day.

I would bet anything that if you walked the parade route and asked 50 people what the 4th of July represents you would get at least 35 with a dumb answer...especially if you asked teenagers.

Thank for listening, Julia Pardini

Julia,
Look and listen to your words. . . "you would get at least 35 with a dumb answer. . .especially if you asked teenagers."

Who is to say what is dumb to each person? (To each is own)
Who has condemned teenagers; the future of our community and country?

You who sit in judgement?

Come on Julia, look at how judgmental your writings are. As pointed out by many others you are a NEGATIVE person , spewing negative and critical comments ALL of the time.

Look in the mirror and start judging yourself, not others.

Happy 4th of July

Julia,

I agree. You really do need to look in the mirror. Who do you think are protecting us and letting us live our lives. Our men and women fighting for us. That's who. You need to get your head out of your *** and again not be such a mean person. You might be surprised at what a teenager might have to say.

Well folks I'm back....

When I am right, I am right and when I am wrong I am wrong..

With regard to the Danville 4th of July Parade...I was wrong.

This years parade was great. Very few advertising floats and the one's that were there were in very good taste, especially the Safeway float.

Much more music, you could see the people enjoying the beat of the music.

The main theme was Military and that was very appropriate...

I truly believe the people enjoyed it. There were less people this than previous years...I have no clue why.

Like usual many folks picked up their chairs, their children and their dogs as soon as they heard the 12 gauge guns drawing out some of happy sounds of children laughing and playing.

Oh yes, I left before the guns got closer. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against gun ownership. I have a few myself. But I do not like it when 20 to 25 go off at the same time and I am within 10 to 15 feet of that horrible noise.

Well I just wanted my friends and most of all my critics to know that Julia is willing to admit when I am WRONG.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY...

Thank you for listening, Julia Pardini, from Alamo

Hey Danville Mom...and A Danville Friend I so pleased I light your fire..

Just think, without folks like you to keep me in line sometimes you never know what you will hear next.

By the way, I truly reading both your comments I realize I am preaching to non-thinkers. But that okay, as Danville Friend said, to each is own.

Thank you very much for listening and most of all keeping this chat session moving right along. Thank you again, Julia Pardini from Alamo

What was the name of the organization that was about sensible gun control in the towns?

Julia,

It just sounds like you have a big mouth. You need to think before you speak. You need to learn when you end something to end it on a happy note. Keep your mouth shut and not judge someone.

My dear Danville Mom as you and other keep saying this is a free country. So I will continue to judge others as much as I judge myself.

And by the way, do not...do not ever say to me or any other poster to this Danville Chat site to keep their mouth shut. Your rights are limited to disciplining yourself. And by the way try and keep your comments civil. It sounds like you were brought up not respecting others opinions...THAT MY DEAR DANVILLE MOM IS WHAT THIS COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED ON...FREE SPEECH. GET IT.

Thank you for listening, Julia Pardini from Alamo

This is a free country Julia. You are entitled to say what you want, but why are you such a negative person? Wouldn't it just be better to keep your opinions to yourself instead of posting them and getting into arguments with strangers! I do have respect for people and am a good person.

Everyone enjoys the parade or they wouldn't come to see it year after year.
