It strikes me at this juncture? This hearing is but a mere formality to pass it as is. The EIR study has been done and accepted. The number of units trimmed somewhat. Sorry, but it's STILL too big a project for this particular area. The drain on limited resources is going to be fierce, as is the unbridled congestion in this small area of north San Ramon. I'm disappointed in the developers of this project and their disregard for San Ramon as a community - that in light of impacts that CAN'T be mitigated? They would STILL hold this number of 740 units. Pitiful. Really. Just pitiful (-too bad we can't swap out projects with Dougherty valley and Sid build his cemetery HERE and shove this huge development over there, as it's already one big unattractive mess of housing and would fit in nicely!)
A typical major loss for communities are when the creeks cannot be accessed because of houses and fences. Hopefully this development has a 150' creek set back on each side, with a trail along the corridor. I kind of doubt that the developer would provide a total of 300' of set back. Our creek corridors continue to be destroyed.
Also the generic "church" and "park" amenities are getting old. Like the rest of San Ramon residents are supposed to get excited about that. BAsically, ruin our creeks, make even more of a mess of the Safeway shopping centers. Make a mess of the traffic light at CC and Bollinger. Destroy our open spaces, stress our overtapped Sierra Nevada water sources, create more pollution.
Three cheers for the developer lap dogs of the San Ramon "Planning" commission and city council. The same goons that brought us the horrific development up the west end of Norris Canyon. Maybe they could be even more visionary and plan on a future development corridor and matching parkway all the way to Castro Valley along the Crow Canyon Road. Using their logic, better to have homes, churches, and dumpy parks than horse stables and dog hotels. And why stop there, how about developing the entire Bollinger Canyon corridor all the way to Lafayette and Moraga. All they have to do is dust off the original freeway plans and update the development plans with a tiny bit of downsizing, throw in a farcical EIR and rubber-stamp approval process and off they go.
It's not about people or communities. It's not about nature and the animals, and its not about the beauty of the area.
If you have the money and you can grease enough slimy politicians hands you can get anything you want.
No one person would agree to this in this area, unless you are a complete MORON. NO ONE. But we don't have a voice!!!
Everyone moves here for peaceful area. You area destroying the very reason people move here. Idiots. Well not idiots...... you are pretty crafty and Evil.
Just like they did in Hawaii. Just like they did in Bora Bora. It's more like Disneyland now.
Pull your head out of your A##. You're no better then BP up in Alaska. "We are creating jobs"?.... so is the Tobacco Company.
So quit telling people "it's for a better community" Quit insulting everyone's intelligence. Why don't you just say it. We do what we want and screw you!! MONEY MONEY MONEY. You will be judged in the end. Remember that.
Why would you wait for the San Ramon planning committee????
It's done. How much did they pay you???? Come on man.... how stupid do you think we are.
You Slime Bags.
Sports players are finding out the same thing .....hey, women don't mind..... for a 20 million dollars even these low life ball players can get a supermodel. It sure as hell ain't their looks!!!!
It goes on and on.
