I'm glad the School Board made a decision, but considering all the costs of hiring a new superintendent including consulting agency, moving costs, etc., I hope this one stays longer to pay off all the costs. Because of all his years in education, when is he eligible to retire? Is this one going to be another 4 year term with a free move to an area where he wants to retire?

Why are we not able to promote from within to fill this position when it becomes available? SRVUSD is supposedly one of the top education programs in the country...we don't have any home grown talent that aspire to be Superintendent?
And if no one here at SRVUSD is qualified just yet...don't we have some development programs to get them so?
Seems to me it would be a little demoralizing to the people who have devoted their professional careers to education here to make SRVUSD the best that it can be, to constantly watch outsiders brought in to lead them.

Agree with the concept that in-house might have been better!!

Public will often condemn teachers for their salary when public NEVER examines what the costs are at the District Office.
Exorbitant amount of money is spent at the DO and no finger pointed its way for now school scores, not that this district has that kind of concern.

Good comments! Hiring someone from San Diego? 58 years old? Higher pay for his pension?

His pay, bonus and all will be within the 1/10 of one percent wealthy range....you can be sure. Agree, too much money wasted. No "public servant" is worth that.

This is pension padding and wage inflation for the rest of the school district. Just a scheme and a scam. Another example and proof of the union "good old boy" crony network in action. School district brings this guy in at higher salary, bonus and all - sets the stage for the rest of the district to get higher salary, bonus and all.

No "public servant" will ever get sympathy from me. All "public servants" are the problem with higher taxes, not the solution .

Guaranteed jobs, guaranteed pensions, guaranteed health insurance, vote themselves raises(?)
