Dead bird in Danville tests positive for West Nile

A fourth bird has been found in Contra Costa County that has tested positive for the West Nile Virus. A house finch found dead July 2 near Bordeaux Court and Tuscany Way in Danville tested positive for the virus.

I also found a dead blue jay that tested positive. I am located next to a stagnant pond that I think the forest maintains and have showed it to the CDC but they say it is not a source. I found it interesting that they want us to drain all our standing water but a stagnant pond is not a source. thank you, jp
