Kids in costume kick off Fall Crafts Festival

Original post made on Oct 26, 2009

The Danville Fall Crafts Festival on Saturday featured children in a costume parade at 10 a.m., who then spread out along Hartz Avenue to trick-or-treat at the stores. This little firefighter, Preston Peeler, 3, decided to check out the fire engine that was on Prospect Avenue courtesy of the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District. The festival continues Sunday, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Photo by Dolores Fox Ciardelli.

The turnout for the Fall Crafts Festival was in great numbers, particularly on Saturday, when it coincided with the Farmers' Market.
The Town Council needs to apply extra sales tax revenues gained for these events to congestion management. This can be done by funding a bus shuttle through CCTA, or extra trips of the CCCTA Route 321.
I told Mayor Arnerich at the Farmers' Market that the Council made the best choice in picking Robert Storer for Council to replace Mike
Shimansky. Robert was at the Market for the 1st time Saturday. Mike, who served on the CCCTA Board, surely would have made the above transit suggestion, as well.
