The Teen Wire: Our Parents, Our Gatekeepers

Original post made by Daniel Morizono, San Ramon Valley High School, on Dec 23, 2009

This is the third in a six-week series of blogs about applying to college by admission advisor Elizabeth LaScala and Teen Wire high school senior Daniel Morizono - showing both sides of the coin, so to speak. Topics will cover everything from pressures to apply early, to parental involvement, to dealing with acceptance, rejection and the hated wait-list option.

Daniet,

May I be the first to congratulate you on a brilliant piece about rites of passage and college admission.

I am quite certain the gatekeepers are aware of you, and one set of gatekeepers, in particular, surely must be very proud.

Elizabeth LaScala
