Alamo MAC's relationship with Alamo?

Original post made by [removed], Alamo, on Jun 18, 2011

Dear Editor,

"Why hasn't the MAC gained relationships with Alamo residents?"

News service alliance conference board, including Alamo region neighbors, discussed redistricting and where Alamo will be placed by supervisors. The focus of the discussion was Alamo residents' current lack of relationship with Ms. Mary Piepho, her staff and her volunteers (CCC-MAC Alamo).

Certainly CCC-MAC policy is a major part of the lack of MAC support, recognition and participation by Alamo residents. In June 2006, when CCC-MAC policies were changed by CCC-BOS, a formation committee in Alamo studied the results and circulated the inability of an Alamo MAC to provide interactive discussions, consideration and mitigation of significant, timely issues. Alamo's high-ranking professional residents expect such interaction as part of all other meetings in their commercial and community lives.

As our conversation continued, news service researchers reported growing divisions among MAC members are politicizing MAC actions. A majority of MAC members see their role as a function of county government and Alamo residents must beat a path to their meetings. Such points of view make a major difference in MAC operations due to the majority of MAC members simply service county and town of Danville governments in their actions and advisories.

As we approach 2012 supervisors' election in newly defined districts, a more recent reality is the lack of MAC agendas important to Alamo residents. Our supervisor, in campaign mode, has documented limitations on MAC members in making their voice important for Alamo residents.
