This week's police log

Original post made on Oct 4, 2011

The Danville Police Department provides Danville Express with a record of its calls each week. This is a sampling, omitting the more mundane, such as routine traffic stops, service requests, noise complaints and domestic disturbances.

John, by comparison, you should consider yourself beyond lucky to be a resident of this town. If you don't count your blessings everyday, I'm sure there is an apartment on 98th and Golf Links with your name on it.

Joe, I would have to agree with your comment. Not sure if this "Allan" is the same enlightened citizen "Allan from Blackhawk" who bangs his highchair every now and then with town bashing drivel. This is a wonderful place, we are very fortunate to have this environment in which to live. Go for a walk on the Iron Horse Trail Allan, you will feel better and perhaps a sense of thankful gratitude you are alive and have it so good.

Thank you JRM. There is not a day that goes by I don't thank God for the blessings he has given me. Where I live is one of the most obvious ones. Danville is a great town, safe and beautiful. I have no patience for sheltered citizens bashing our community. They have obviously not experienced life outside our valley.

Had to put in my two cents. This is a wonderful town, with wonderful people. Allan need to move Pittsburg, Antioch, or areas in San Jose for a few weeks. We are indeed blessed!

As a person who grew up on the wrong side of the proverbial tracks, I am ever so grateful for this community. Our family moved here 9 years ago, and it was the best move we have ever made.

My partner lives in Pinole. It used to be a sleepy little town in CoCoCo(Contra Costa County). About 3 years ago things really changed. He and his wife are surrounded by an element that they prefer not to have as neighbors and it's getting worse every month. As the real estate market colapses and foriegn investors are buying the foreclosures, they will rent to anybody, hense the decline of their once really beautiful area. I saw the "handwriting on the wall" and moved from Pinole 7 years ago to Danville. It can happen -there is low income housing in San Ramon. Just some of my simple thoughts.

For those of you who seem a little uninformed, we have had 4 murders, a few suicides, and an increase in gangs here in very recent years in what you all seem to think of as utopia.

Douglas, consider those stats with other communities and you may understand why many of us feel that Danville is exceedingly safe in comparison. Though the crimes you mention are undeniably tragic for the victims and their families, they are still well below average.

Ahh, Utopia.
