Congratulations to Chief Price, the Board of Directors, and our firefighters for continuing to excel and amaze in pursuit of keeping us safe.

I agree...we just can not pay them enough...given their hazardous duty here....but wait...their pensions are bankrupting us...what will we do? I will work harder to pay more taxes so they will have a sweetheart deal we don't have. But I feel good about it, we all like firefighters right? I love it when firemen rate firemen...I own a home in Oregon and our local guys up there just got the same thing...what a joke...

Germ, the special districts assoc is firemen rating firemen? How is that? And this is a California organization. I don't think they are evaluating fire departments in Oregon. Maybe you should just say good job.

They do a great job. However, paying their Chiefs over $200,000 per year during retirement is way too much. Fix that!

A simple web search shows only three fire departments in CA have achieved this award (and zero in Oregon). jrm is misinformed, as usual. However, some pension reform would be something to congratulate too!
