Loretta Hale defeated breast cancer three times and had two amazing children. I find it hard to believe that after spending a decade fighting for her life she would choose to end it in this manner. If the Danville Express could please provide more information on this alleged suicide I think the whole community would appreciate it. Loretta's legacy should not be tarnished. Loretta was an absolute angel to so many in our area and defined compassion.

Let this serve as a reminder tha none of us really knows what is going on inside anyone's mind or the troubles they are going through. Compassion and kindness is all too often missing in our daily intereaction with our fellow humans...

Instead of thinking of her life as "tarnished" or something requiring "salvation", try to remember we are all human and no one knows what is going on within a person, not to mention what happens after we die. It sounds like Loretta was an amazing woman, so let's honor her memory in a positive light, not by dragging her down with undocumented personal superstition.

The "whole community" here doesn't need to know this woman's personal and tragic story. Let her family have some peace. It's nobody elses' business.

The paper had already indicated that prior to the incident, she was considered "missing and suicidal". What else do you need to know???
