Critics of high-speed rail taking their arguments to Sacramento in effort to block plan

Original post made on Jul 16, 2012

California's contentious drive to build a high-speed-rail system between San Francisco and Los Angeles sped ahead last week, when state lawmakers approved funding for the first construction phase, faces new hurdles tomorrow as critics go to Sacramento in new effort to block plan.

Between the NIMBY's, the Luddites, the nitpickers and the "I've got mine, Jack's" it's a wonder we're not still huddled over wood fires and dragging our belongings from place to place behind us on sticks....

Let's build PYRAMIDS in the central valley.
The work would employ lots of people (slaves to the government system).
Maybe we could even get FED money for it, which we wouldn't want to lose that money to other states.
We could bury our dead in a mass grave chamber underneath each pyramid.
And politicians could have their names etched in large letters on the outside (so that they aren't forgotten about after their term limits expire)--at least they'd be doing something of some lasting permanence.
How stupid are we VOTERS in California!?! (Well, I guess a whole lot of dumb!)

What are the projections for how many people per day will pay "X" to ride the train from LA to "B" (where are we talking, Pleasanton? Stockton? SF?)
How have the projections been derived? (certainly no one ever asked me!)

So people, would you make enough use of this train to justify it's cost/existence!?! Not me! (Not unless it had a way that I could put my RV--full of stuff--on it.)

Don't miss out on the discussion!
