Hmmm I would bet the bolts were made in China---was that even asked? Easy discovery News people---or would the "thought police" tsk tsk?

Daniel: seek and ye shall find, in the 4th paragraph of the article:

"The bolts, also called anchor rods, are located near where the new span's self-anchored suspension span meets its skyway. MANUFACTURED IN OHIO in 2008, they popped out several inches after they were tightened."

I don't know who these 'thought police' are, but the 'reading police' are clearly falling down on the job. Book Daniel, Danno.

Cardinal...try not to be so cute with your choice of words.

Your last sentence make as much sense as does Daniel's comment.

These are serious issues and the senior management folks at Caltrans responsible for must be terminated accordingly.

And the Ohio company must also pay for the failures.

And just wait folks...I sincerely believe more and more bolts will fail. But as our dear Jerry Brown says, "shit will happen" And he is correct..that's how he got back into office.

Thanks for listening...and mark my words....more bolts will fail.
