Pusillanimous Putz

Original post made by John Barry on Oct 4, 2013

Got this in the mail today. I'd like to respond, but because it was sent by an anonymous coward, no can do. If the pusillanimous "puke," to borrow a term from the missive, who sent this happens to read this posting, please ID yourself. Not likely, I guess, because, he/she seems not to be a fan.

John,
I'd like to share a letter to the piece of garbage that sent you a nameless note:

Dear Coward,
Please go outside and get in your car. Turn on the engine and drive.

Find the tallest building or bridge.

Proceed to summit the object and without hesitation leap off the edge and perform a swan dive.

Rid the world of your hate and otherwise useless existence.

Thank you for this selfless act on behalf of all humanity.

Kevin

John: Everyone's a critic! You've made an impression.

I've tried to think about what kind of person writes crap like that, and what they're trying to accomplish with it: getting your attention I guess, and some dark strain of attempted intimidation, too. The only thing to be done is to consider it a badge of honor.

I Would file it away, in case these love letters continue -- amazing advances in criminal forensics have been made, of late.

Thanks for the comments, Kevin, Tom. Interestingly, the same cowardly troll who sent me this mindless missive sent a much more vitriolic and profanity-laden one about three years ago. . .apparently took issue with a letter I'd sent to the CC Times. I wouldn't mind if he/she had any guts, but hiding behind the USPS is seriously chickenhearted, to employ a euphemism. Anyway, since it's irrelevant drivel from a psycho stalker, I'll brush it aside like the dirt it is.

I am a practising artist, here in the Tri-Valley and beyond and I've know John Barry as another artist, and also a poet and punist, for 8 years. His work is always interesting, unique and evolving. I look forward to seeieng what he comes up with next as I thourghly enjoy the unique prospective and wit of his works. tRaction is another of John's wonderful artistic inventions and I look forward to seeing it at the Art in the Park festival in San Ramon this weekend! Rock on John!
