Food waste to methane power

A program that takes scrap food waste from restaurants and turns it into methane gas may be getting expanded. Danville Town Councilwoman Candace Andersen, a member of the Central Contra Costa Solid Waste Authority, said that the program seems to be working well and may be enlarged to encompass more restaurants.

I think this is a great idea and more restaurants in Danvill should participate...Less waste in our overloaded landfills.....And while were on the subject of food scrap recycling, I think it stinks that the people of Danville voted down the recycling of food scraps into our green recycling bins....Our we so lazy that it's too much trouble to do this. I hope we get a second chance to participate in household food scrap recycling in the future..We need to do all we can to insure our childrens children have a clean earth to live in...The less we dump in the land fill the better....

You got it right - it stinks. Thats why after two weeks the little bucket they provided went into the recycle bin.

So don't use the little bucket Ron. Wrap your food scraps in newspaper and dump daily....or If you washed out your food bucket useing recyced water, that keeps it from smelling... Get creative...
