Should Alamo tax payers fund a pool at SRVHS?

Original post made by Natalie O’Neill on Feb 12, 2007

It's one of the most talked about local issues around Alamo right now. At a community meeting a few days ago I was informed that about 80 percent of Alamo neighborhood group members support partially funding a new aquatic center at San Ramon Valley High School. What do you think? Is this a good place for Alamo's park and recreation dollars to go?

The Alamo neighborhoods have been informed to provide you public comment and confidential disclosure. With a slight majority of Alamo high school students attending SRVHS, most neighborhoods have specific interest in R-7A funding of the new Alamo Region (Danville) Aquatic Center. With proximity and ease of public and private transportation access to SRVHS, neighborhoods believe that it is the best location for a pool serving Alamo. With >80% of Alamo residents opposing the construction of the SRV YMCA commercial facilities and pool in Alamo's Hemme neighborhoods, neighborhoods see SRVHS as far more suitable location for an additional pool serving Alamo. With MVHS Pool already built and operated using R-7A funds, neighbors clearly see a need for equality in funding of the Alamo Region (Danville) Aquatic Center.

I would hope Alamo residents would further comment on these reported issues.
