Yikes!

I have never paid attention to this. We live in a town of 42,000 and we have 26 city employees making an average of $115,873 per year. The average household inome here is $127,000/yr -- and we may not want a community where our servants have to drive in from the hinterlands -- but does this really make sense? This is $200/yr/household just for these salaries (not to mention other services).

$260,000/yr just seems like a lot of money to manage a town of 40,000 people. It's more than Congressmen and Senators make -- and I think that they are overapaid.
