Don't put a "Patch" on democracy

Original post made by Rick Pshaw on Apr 26, 2010

The new kid on the block puts a "Patch" on things that are controversial, things that may be a little unpopular, and things that are the slightest bit politically out of the mainstream.

Ignore the Patch and stay with real journalism.

Actually, Rick..I just took a look at the website in question and it seemed fine to me. Actually, a bit complementary to this one. It has information this one does not, this one has info that one does not. It seems like a win-win to me.

Dear Emily,

As your readers consider the nature of news sources in our region they should actually define what journalism is required in our region. At present, local on-line media including the Danville Express provides distribution of news releases and stories authored by governments, groups and institutions. Such distribution is not matched to appropriate journalism that fully backgrounds the content and provides appropriate updates of distributors' actions and interests.

Your background reflects a qualified journalist fully capable of carrying on the exceptional work of Dolores Fox Ciardelli. In an editorial, beyond your BLOG, would you please provide your plans for advancing journalism for the Danville Express and identify the major regional issues that will be your focus?

Let's ask your readers to guide you in the issues they would select for your expert journalism.
