I am sure you understand the absence of comment to this reprint of a town press release. It is an insulting expression of power that demands community adherence to a very small power base that is the town of Danville. Sorry, it didn't happen as planned because our region knows the damage such power can potentially create in our region.
We know Emily is better than this effort. We certainly know how EMCEB publishers play into the <1200 supporters remaining for the Town Council. More as reality, we know the future will be a regional effort to create a Danville neighborhoods improvement association to insure the future of the majority of voters.
For what it's worth, I totally agree with Mr. Bailey. Danville just took a very large step backwards with regard to the rights of we the people to express our choices via the voting procedure.
The Danville Town Council has placed a big black mark in the history books.
As Mr. Bailey stated, "it is an insulting expression or power" shame on all of you. And please do not insult us,[we the people] further and say it was done to save money...if it wasn't so sad...this would be laughable.
Here is a good start for the New Julia Motto...
"VOTE THE INCUMBENT'S OUT"
Thanks for listening, Julia from Alamo
Simply a calendar note. Danville neighborhood forum, as the combined neighborhoods formation group, is having meetings in various neighborhoods this week. Neighborhood reps will be contacting neighbors to provide time and place for presentation and discussion of a combined neighborhoods improvement association to be the primary voice for Danville residents with the town of Danville government, SRVUSD and other governments impacting Danville and its region. Neighborhoods from throughout the Iron Horse corridor will be supporting these discussions.
This courtesy notice is to promote considered commentary on the EXpress Town Square Forum.
Interesting comments from Mr. Hal & Julia. Here are two points to consider:
-Not having an election and saving over $50,000 is the correct decision. In these fiscally troubled times, our Council made a responsible decision, not a self-serving one. They always weigh every decision and work toward a better community.
-No one in Danville took the effort to challenge these incumbents. Maybe, Danville citizens like the way their government is being conducted. Balanced budget, no staff layoffs, accountable Town leadership, beautiful parks, roadways & downtown.
Sounds like the citizens HAVE spoken.
To the friend of the Town...you are badly mistaken.
The citizen's of the Town of Danville have not spoken.
The Town Council has spoken and you [the friend of the town] like many others have taken the bait regarding saving the Town money...what a bunch of BS.
I think you should read Mr. Bailey's other comment regarding this matter. He well pointed out how slanted the entire campaigning system is in our County...read it you may learn something.
Beware you good people of Danville you just allowed the real experienced bureaucrat to test the water and guess what...they found it nice and warm...don't be surprised when it happens again and again. You maybe even see other city officials go the way the Town of Danville.
Danville citizen's...I don't feel sorry for you...you deserve everything you're going to get and ultra-ego Town Council.
Thanks for listening, Julia form Alamo
I am hoping more Danville residents will provide comment following today's Danville neighborhoods forum meeting. The repetition of the town's press release published above does not represent the majority's position according news service polling. In the focus polling, many issues were raised with Weber Ranch development considered a prime example of how the town council and goverment are deeply separated from the will of the majority of residents. Another major issue is the general plan update that is in progress and how an autonomous town council, capable of appointing itself, might proceed with development, even eminent domain actions, under a new general plan.
Thus, once again, the purpose of this posting is to invite residents to comment rather than simply have the minority of town council supporters simply rehash press releases.
Don't miss out on the discussion!
