SRVHS history teacher wins Eukel award

Original post made by Rick Nelson, San Ramon Valley High School, on Nov 18, 2011

I'm hoping Danville Express will do a full story on this! Jesse Hansen, a history teacher at San Ramon Valley High, won a Warren W. Eukel Teacher Trust award, which includes a $10,000 award and an awards dinner last night at Diablo Country Club. He's a great teacher who deserves the honor - and deserves more recognition for his work for our students. So please write it up!

From what I hear, Mr. Hansen is well deserving of this. This should make all of us proud of our local public schools.

Mr. Hansen has been one of the greatest history teachers I have ever had. I could feel the passion he had for his subject. I hope that the administration will allow him to expand the SRV history department, as I think he is currently trying to get an Asian history class approved. He more than deserves this award; he is an excellent teacher.

Congratulations Mr. Hansen and thank you for your dedication to our kids. Your willingness to carve out a Model UN program and travel for the first time to New York with a bunch of wild and enthusiastic teenagers shows how committed you are to giving our kids an experience beyond the classroom walls and well beyond your job requirements.

Don't miss out on the discussion!
