Danville calls for donations to complete Vets Hall

I still think that the sacrifice of our heritage trees for a few more square feet of floor space was the wrong decision. I don't plan to ever set foot in this building .. the loss to the community was far beyond the value it brings.

Dear Editor,

If all the unnecessary veterans our country created since Viet Nam came together and raised the $8.5 million, do you think we could simply tear the Vets Hall down and plant Redwood Trees as part of a "reflection area" in Old Town? Simply imagine the greater purpose of being able to sit quietly in a Redwood Grove and consider "What the Hell were we doing in someone else's country anyway?

Too obvious a question? Did Walnut Creek get it right by tearing down the sad memories left unanswered in their Veterans' Hall?

Of Ralph wondering, with a sad smile

In a tough economy it would seem city fathers would'nt enter a venture like buiding the Hall knowing they are 25% short of funds-did I miss something?

Don't miss out on the discussion!
