A well misplaced word

Original post made by Oxymo Ron, another community, on May 20, 2008

Dear neighbors,

After writing advertising copy and business prospectus for all these years, the opportunity to write a few misplaced words in this Forum is very relaxing. Hopefully, the wrong word in the wrong place is always spelled correctly, but its misplacement is its purpose.

For those of you that write in their business lives, you already know that each word and combination of words are chosen carefully to engage the reader in a flow of thoughts leading to a designed conclusion. The use of the misplaced word is not actually different from that goal. The reader trips over the misplaced word and then rereads the surrounding commentary to make sense of it all.

It is the misplaced word that creates the centerpoint of the writing and creates the opportunity for readers' interpretation. This is especially true when no content in the writing is intended. The reader reads and rereads in interpretation to their own point of view.

As a result, in this forum such misplaced words in writing lacking content has created many excellent and very meaningful discussions of shifting topics from each author that adds their thoughts.

And I enjoy that result,

One HAL of a Pal

Posted, smiling, for the author

Dear neighbors,

In Alamo everywhere in North America and in various towns named Poplar we have been discussing just what is a Dick Cheney Republican? In the exchanges, we used Clinton Democrats, Hollywood Liberals, and many more political descriptions to discuss negatives that are so entertaining in our politics.

Labels in politics are oxymorons because they are politically incorrect. Labels tie candidates to one or another negative that is not defined by other than the voters' imagination. Our case in point is the upcoming article that will label our current district 3 supervisor as a Dick Cheney Republican.

We clearly know our supervisor is specifically her own politician defined by her ability to gain support for her re-election. Clearly, there is no other focus than political survival and no definition beyond her own goals. But as her campaign "swift boats" Guy Houston, Democrats and moderate Republicans are "swift boating" the supervisor with the Dick Cheney label.

Now that, my fellow voters, is well misplaced words,

Dear Krak Potts,

Are you by any chance related to Pepper Potts, sidekick to Iron Man? If so, can you arrange a meeting? She's definitely a woman with lots of spunk and sauciness. Her line about "occasionally taking out the trash" is priceless.

Dear Alamo Ron,

You are such an exceptional part of Et Al(amo) and a joy to read.

Vince Kreigher is a current investor in the Alamo business district, owns a condo in WC, vineyards in the Gold Country, and a home in Morro Bay. His humor is Krak Potts and previously Rho Mano of Alamorata fame. His latest celebration is Gravity Hill Zinfandel at Trader Joe's.

I am Oxymo Ron, Halamo and more in response to your celebration of CONTENT and humor. I so enjoy the clever stucture of your thinking and writing.

We might not agree but we will join in voice of the reality of consideration for our corridor.

Celebrate you,

Hal/CDSI Research
