I saw the smoke and some flames from my backyard (across Camino Tassajara), and phoned it in (it had already been reported), and then just a few minutes later heard the fire engines, and then saw the planes. There appeared to be two planes dropping the red fire-retardent, plus a "spotter" small plane. And at least one helicopter as well, that was dropping water. Very impressive (and fast) response. The planes showed up so quickly that I was wondering where they took off from (Livermore? Buchanon Field in Concord?)

From my distant vantage point, I couldn't tell how close the fire was to residences and other structures in the Wyndemere area, but on the other side (the side closest to Camino Tassajara) it never got that close to anything. But if it hadn't been responded to so quickly, it would have been heading towards homes. Thanks to all who helped to put this one out!
