San Ramon Valley Fire hires six new firefighters/paramedics

Original post made on Aug 7, 2013

Six new emergency personnel took their oath of office Aug. 5 during a badge pinning ceremony in front of family, friends, co-workers and local officials. Dubbed the Tassajara Firehawks, the academy graduates will serve as firefighter/paramedics.

We're they hired on qualifications or affirmative action/diversity? Some "drs" at Stanford flunked the MCATs but have been turned loose to practice-literally- on patients. Stanford gets $ for coddling the unqualified.

Are we the next Stockton where the cops and firefighters bankrupt us so they can retire at 52 years old at 135k per year with full health coverage?

You can rest easy, Samantha - from the picture it's pretty obvious that they're all good looking white guys. You don't have to worry about some <ugh!> "minority type" trying to rescue you from a burning building. I know that would cause you serious emotional trauma, right?

(Is it just here on these fora or is the San Ramon Valley a hotbed of blatant, unrepentant racism? Do these folks sit around talking to each other until they think it's okay to spew their venomous bile in public or has the flood of right wing racist propaganda blown the lid come off for all the folks who were hiding this stuff from people who might call them out?)

It's just here on this forum that people have the anonymity to spew ugly thoughts without any accountability. These guys worked so hard and the fact that there are even a few people (who are hopefully not ever going to call 911) that don't feel proud for the accomplishment is just weird.

Great. Now if we would only have a fire or two around here. Another red truck at Alamo Safeway - that's all we need...

la dee da- are you really hoping that we have more emergencies? That sounds just plain dumb.

Really Kara? You're really asking that question based on what I wrote? Could it not be looked at as if the FD just *might* be overstaffed with a bit too much free time on their hands? or do you really think a ladder truck is necessary to go shopping at Safeway.
Sheesh, YOU are just plain dumb.

We get what we pay for in the San Ramon Valley, which is top of the line emergency responders. I've needed them once or twice and I'm so thankful that we are staffed up with the right people and the right equipment. Dee da- less time in the Safeway parking lot and more time in the real world- you might not have forgotten the la.

Samantha: please provide a link or any other objective source for your claims regarding the docs at Stanford.

Your credibility is deeply suspect, based on the charges themselves and your statement that somebody supposedly "flunked the MCATs..." You can't flunk the MCAT, any more than you can flunk the SAT. It simply ranks your performance.

I'm guessing this is half-understood hearsay, off of somebody else's racist rant that you've adopted as your own -- for reasons that escape me, but they aren't my main concern. Please, prove me wrong.

I guess in your world the Safeway parking lot isn't the real world. HUH???? Your lack of intelligence is frightening. You can't even assimilate a simple idea, let alone draw a legitimate, logical conclusion from it. Learn to think.
