Lighting the Old Oak Tree

Tonight, join the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce for the 32nd annual Lighting of the Old Oak Tree, 5:15-8:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 28. Gather on Diablo Road to hear the SRVHS Choral Singers and the Danville Girls Chorus and help Father Christmas and the Snow Angel light the tree at 6:15 p.m. Visit www.danvilleareachamber.com.

The tree lighting was was wonderful the last time I went. From the SRVHS choir to the little kids chasing one another, the event generated an amazing feeling of community. I hope the old oak tree and this tradition last at least another hundred years.
