WE must be a majority
Original post made by Hal Bailey, Alamo, on Feb 22, 2009
It is our obligation to make sure that a true majority decides the future of the Alamo region. We must be a true majority in our voting and be a true majority in defining our future no matter what the outcome on March 3rd. It does not end on March 3rd. It begins with our majority instructing any government resulting from our vote in compliance with our will and interests.
We must not allow a minority, any factoid or emotion, to keep us from voting the will and interests of our majority in the Alamo region. We must not allow media to assume our will and interests. We must not allow artificial boundaries to keep our neighborhoods from voicing the future of our choice of government for our region. We must not allow the overall political climate of Contra Costa County to dictate our decisions for the future of our region.
There must be greater than a majority of eligible voters that decides our choice of government. We cannot allow politics and media to dissuade us from the polls and our majority position. It is our future, our democracy, our government and our will that holds our future. We cannot surrender that to a select few.
Today, please, reaffirm your willingness to designate the majority's future in the Alamo region and vote on March 3.
