Dear neighbors,

As you focus your Iron Horse corridor discussions on business districts in Saranap, Tice Valley, Alamo and Danville, I would like to hear Danville neighbors discuss Danville Old Town and its needs for rejuvenation. In an earlier e-exchange, Alamo neighbors were surprised to find how many Danville residents shop in Alamo for its convenient one-stop shopping. In further e-exchanges, Danville Old Town was described as needing anchor stores, a hotel, and more diversity in its retail to link the length of the shopping areas together.

Here is an opportunity to update our region's desires for shopping and hospitality experiences in Danville. What are your ideas?

Dear neighbors,

Does anyone have a weblink for the original Alamo Downtown Plan prepared by Donna Gerber in 2000-2002? I recall its very efficient use of the Alamo business district with streetside retail and commercial and luxury residential on the second and third floors. That plan also reduced Danville Blvd to single access lanes and create more lanes within the business district.

We should all consider this very rational plan once again as we update our business districts in Saranap, Tice Valley, Alamo and Danville.

Dear neighbors,

I would like to thank Stan in the Las Trampas neighborhoods for providing a complete file on the Donna Gerber Downtown conceptual plans and the subsequent planning done by neighbors and the business district. It will be featured at our May discussion gathering and available on a limited supply of CD's.

Many thanks, Stan,

Kathy
