Diablo Views: "Communicating with Governments"

Original post made by CDSI Research on Jun 26, 2010

Dear Dolores,

As corridor neighbors continue to applaud the journalism that you brought in the initial years of The Danville Weekly, many are asking for your return to such journalism. Throughout our nation, a large segment of citizens are troubled by their inability to communicate with governments and have impact on the politics that detract from such communication.

That concern has been published in media, e-exchanges, blogs and e-mails to politicians. Contra Costa County District III neighborhoods and community groups have been publicly specific with communications issues with District III, SRVUSD, Town of Danville and more. Governments' public meetings are frustratingly without interaction and discussion by and between communities and governments.

Neighbors propose a Diablo View authored by you that will illustrate the issues of communicating with governments. We hope that you will accept this challenging subject and illustrate its issues.

It becomes timely journalism as Contra Costa County Municipal Advisory Council for Alamo, an agency of District III operations, plans discussion of communication by and between the community and the (Alamo) MAC on July 20, 2010. County MAC policy serves as example of the lack of interaction and discussion by and between the community and MAC members.

I look forward to your Diablo Views,

Hal/CDSI
